Trying to reinstall windows without disc but keep getting an error code ?

I'm basicy reinstalling to erase everything do to the slow speed, the reinstallation process starts then about a quarter of the way thru it quits and gives me an error like 1772 or something. Was wondering if there is a different way to reinstall or If using the disc would even help.
