Do King Snakes Get Musty?

So I am going to get a California king snake and put it in my 9x10ft room and i was wondering if it is going to develop a real musty smell. if that is going to happen, is there any way of fixing it?......also, if there really is no way of fixing it, what starter snake would be good for my size limitations as far as smell wise?
