How can I get a smell out of a freezer?

My freezer was off and in a storage shed for about 5 months and now it smells kind of musty. It has been on and open to help air it out and we have even tried putting some baking soda in it to help. I heard that charcoal works to. Are there any other ways to get rid of the smell?
